Winter is Coming

Lately we've been so busy with our various projects that we haven't really been taking the time to just go for a nice walk. So one day, when the sky was grey and we didn't have much to do, we headed off to Betws-y-Coed where we knew there would be plenty of hiking paths to explore.

It was gloomy, it was wet, and it was starting to get cold. But you know, I think I've said it quite a few times to all my friends, I love Betws-y-Coed during Autumn-Winter. I've actually done a few posts about this beautiful place! See them here and here. The fact that it's cold and gloomy makes the experience even more enjoyable. It just suits the little town and its character.

We also went for a cheeky hot chocolate and cake to our favourite café The Alpine Coffee Shop for a reward after the work out.

Have an amazing weekend peeps!

PS: Yes I know, I couldn't resist! Am I the only one missing Game of Thrones here?! I don't know if I can wait until April!!

STAY STRONG. STAY UNITED.

We were coming back from the Cinema yesterday evening when I had a quick look on facebook and saw a brief message from an old University friend living in Paris. She was saying that she was alive, and managed to get home two minutes before the gunshots started in her street.

At this point I turned to Jason and said that something bad is happening in Paris. It didn't take us long to realise how horrifying the situation was. Visiting the BBC news website, we were able to follow the news regularly and we were shocked at what we were seeing. There are no words to describe how devastating these series of attacks were to us. We felt lost. All my thoughts were going to France, to Paris, and to all my friends and family living there.

This photo was taken two years ago, during an amazing holiday we had in Paris. It's hard to comprehend that this horrifying act has happened in this beautiful city.

I don't have all the answers, but in this moment of terror and sadness, I feel that we need to stay strong and united against these extremists that decided to shake humanity.

Escape for a day in Beddgelert

A little while ago we took a day off and went to Beddgelert to explore some of the paths around the area and discover the town's celtic history. The problem, which is not really a problem, is that the drive there offers so many beautiful views that we had to stop all the time to take some photos! Worth it though. The landscapes of the Snowdonian mountains are always breathtaking.

In the morning we strolled around the gentle path that leads to Beddgelert's grave. The story is part of the Mabinogion book which combines all the ancient Welsh legends that took place all around Wales. It's such a sad one! Have a look at it right here. We loved this little town's character and the traditional colourful houses with the mountains for background.

We had to stop for a delicious lunch, obviously, at Hebog and we weren't disappointed. I didn't even get a chance to take some photos of the desserts as we ate them so quickly! I think what I liked about this place is the warm, cosy atmosphere when you enter. And for the nice warm days, they have a big area full of picnic tables right by the river so that you can enjoy your meal with a view.

We kept the best part for last as we hiked along the river down to the Fisherman's path, all the way down to Pont Aberglaslyn. We had such a good time and the weather stayed still so we were quite glad to not get soaked in the middle of the afternoon! This was one of those days when you feel so lucky to live in this kind of area. Nature everywhere and loads of fresh air.

Well, we couldn't resist to take a couple of photos of Llyn Gwynant on the way back. It was getting darker and it look so moody and perfectly still... Amazing!

Have a great evening guys :)

New Christmas cards available!

Well, it's official, Halloween is gone and Winter is here so it's now absolutely fine to think about Christmas! And thinking about it, there are now two new cards available on my Etsy shop!

I thought I would do a couple of designs without any cats on whilst keeping a bright and festive typographic design. Hope you like them! You can also find some packs of 5 if you're feeling particularly full of Christmas spirit.

This project of mine means so much to me so thank you again for your help and support! And if you fancy something a bit different, I do take customised order so don't be shy and reach out with any request :)

Cheers!

Giveaway - "Watercolour & Wise Words" wallpapers!

This is a bit of a funny one as this quote isn't actually mine. If you're living in the UK and you've been following the Naked Choir programme, you must have seen the group of elderly men that made it to the quarter finals. Well, we happened to watch it one night, whilst writing the shopping list, and when I wasn't watching, I heard the older man from the choir say these very words: "A day without laughter is a day wasted". It instantly caught my brain and I made sure to write it somewhere as I knew I would use it for one of my wallpapers.

So here we are, a quote that everybody should remember and live by, alongside some warm hues that I painted with watercolour, even though it is now November. You know, I did think about using some cold hues, but then I decided that it wouldn't represent well the idea of laughing and just be happy in general. Cheers to that!
