Escape for a day in Beddgelert

A little while ago we took a day off and went to Beddgelert to explore some of the paths around the area and discover the town's celtic history. The problem, which is not really a problem, is that the drive there offers so many beautiful views that we had to stop all the time to take some photos! Worth it though. The landscapes of the Snowdonian mountains are always breathtaking.

In the morning we strolled around the gentle path that leads to Beddgelert's grave. The story is part of the Mabinogion book which combines all the ancient Welsh legends that took place all around Wales. It's such a sad one! Have a look at it right here. We loved this little town's character and the traditional colourful houses with the mountains for background.

We had to stop for a delicious lunch, obviously, at Hebog and we weren't disappointed. I didn't even get a chance to take some photos of the desserts as we ate them so quickly! I think what I liked about this place is the warm, cosy atmosphere when you enter. And for the nice warm days, they have a big area full of picnic tables right by the river so that you can enjoy your meal with a view.

We kept the best part for last as we hiked along the river down to the Fisherman's path, all the way down to Pont Aberglaslyn. We had such a good time and the weather stayed still so we were quite glad to not get soaked in the middle of the afternoon! This was one of those days when you feel so lucky to live in this kind of area. Nature everywhere and loads of fresh air.

Well, we couldn't resist to take a couple of photos of Llyn Gwynant on the way back. It was getting darker and it look so moody and perfectly still... Amazing!

Have a great evening guys :)
